The MP 4001 and MP 5001 will produce documents at 40ppm and 50ppm respectively, while offering full color and monochrome scanning capabilities. The MP 4001 and MP 5001 feature solutions-based technologies, such as Personal Paperless Document Manager and App2Me. These solutions are designed to allow users the ability to customize documents and streamline current workflow to enhance personal productivity, said a press release.

"The new Aficio MP 4001/MP 5001 Series enhances an already solid Ricoh mid-volume product line. We went to great lengths to provide greater flexibility with custom software while continuing to improve productivity to keep workflow moving," said Shun Sato, senior vice president, Marketing, Ricoh Americas Corporation.

The Aficio imaging solution is designed to serve as a document distribution portal, incorporating an impressive lineup of technologies, including the ability to scan full-color or black and white originals and share them instantly with Scan-to-Email/Folder/HDD.

The Scan-to-URL feature reduces the burden on the network by providing recipients with a link to enable viewing or downloading by a Web browser. The Aficio MP 4001/MP 5001 can also pull e-mail addresses from up to five LDAP servers, saving users time searching for contacts, and it provides full-color thumbnails of every scanned page to ensure quality prior to distribution.

The solution includes the high-end security technologies required to keep documents safe from a variety of threats at every stage of workflow. This includes preventing unauthorized access and usage with password protection, the release added.
