MUMBAI: Rhombus Technologies has bagged the contract of implementing its in-house software ‘Webcafe’ in the webstores and cyber cafes of Reliance Infocom and Tatanova. The software is capable of solving everyday problems faced in a cyber cafe in managing its customers and cash flow. The software would help in processes like maintaining a log of customer’s ‘Time in’ and ‘Time out’, manual calculation of the bill amount and bill generation.

Reliance Infocom has recently announced opening of 800 webstores all across the country. Rhombus would implement ‘Webcafe’ in all the stores. The cost of the whole project is Rs 35 lakh. Tatanova already has its self-owned cyber cafes. The work of implementation of the software is going on rapidly. The cost of the software is Rs 700 per machine.

Using the server module of WebCafe, the administrator can keep track of customers’ bill once they log off. Also it will enable to shift any user to another free PC even after logoff, shutdown or restart. It will also allow banning websites, which would restrict any customer from visiting sites having the specified words.

With the client module of WebCafe, the customer could login either as a member or a walk-in customer. The client module would freeze the usage of any other application till the user has logged in. Also the customer can view and add cafe graffiti. The software would allow him to see his bill at any time during surfing.

The company has successfully implemented this software in most of the cyber cafes in Mumbai and its adjoining areas. It is now planning a nationwide rollout of its products in the coming few months. To this end, the company is coming up with a new channel structure. Currently the company is operating through direct selling. Now it will appoint dealers and distributors in metros. The focus areas would be the upcountry markets.
