LA JOLLA, USA: ReverseEngineering.com announced that the next major release of ReverseEngineering.com for SolidWorks 2014 will debut at SolidWorks World 2014 | Jan. 27-29, 2014 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California Booth # 504.

ReverseEngineering.com, a leader in advanced reverse engineering, inspection and 3D scanning software, will demonstrate the latest version of its feature-based 3D scanning point cloud tools fully-integrated inside Solidworks 2014 modeling engine. The reverse engineering add-in accelerates design by easily converting dense scanned data into usable SolidWorks 3D geometry.

Scan tools include the ability to thin and cut cross-section through point clouds and create feature tree surfaces in real time along with 2D / 3D features and complex 3D shapes. The add-in is the economical plug and play software solution for Faro EDGE, Romer Absolute, MicroScribe, 3D Creator, Focus 3D, Cyclone, Artec Spider, Steinbichler, ATOS, HDI 3D, and Leica scanners to create parametric feature tree models.

"The software brings it all together to successfully digitize a part and using the laser scanner. What a great asset. The thorough application of techniques was great. Everything led to relevance of the next application. Laser scanning is the ultimate application," said a US Army end user.

The first SolidWorks gold partner to integrate support for Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) 3D scanners will demonstrate 3D scanning pump impellers, human faces, sports helmets and the process the data in real time. The on-demand workflow simplifies the end users requirements of working with dense point clouds in Solidworks Standard or Premuim.
