BANGALORE, INDIA: International news agency Thomson Reuters on Sunday faced second cyber attack when its Twitter account was reportedly hacked by pro-Bashar al-Assad elements.
According to the news service agency, the Twitter account @ReutersTECH was hacked and then renamed to @ReutersME. The account has since been suspended.
According to media reports all through Sunday there were tweets by Reuters targeted at developments in Syria.
The latest attack comes close on the heels of Friday's attack in which the Reuters blogging platform was attacked. The hackers had illegally put up at least two false stories were posted in favor of the Assad regime.
