Reliance Mobile intros LBS-based VAS, BIGMaps

MUMBAI, INDIA: Continuing its increased focus on VAS, Reliance Mobile, has announced the launch of location based service, BIGMaps on a pan-India basis for its GSM subscribers.

The service which presently is available over SMS, WAP and download medium provides subscribers to search across business, directions, events and movies.

The maps can be zoomed up to 15 zoom levels and the services aim to provide real time landmark based routing.

Krishna Durbha, Head – VAS, Reliance Communications said, “Our BigMap service reiterates our focus of driving VAS leadership through innovative offerings. This service will increase the usage of device based search & navigation. Business, Event, Direction and PointnFind search are for the serious users, while Friend finder adds the fun element".
