CHENNAI: Close on the heels of its Anniversary Offer, Reliance Infocomm has announced a total waiver of the monthly rental of Rs 200 for R Connect usage under its new zero rental R connect tariff plan.

Under the new plan, R Connect usage charge will be a flat Re one per minute with 60 seconds pulse. In addition to this plan, the three existing R Connect tariff plans - Standard, Silver and Gold will continue to be available.

The new zero rental R Connect tariff plan will be available to all Post-paid Reliance IndiaMobile (RIM) subscribers across the country. This plan is, however, not applicable to FWP/T subscribers and RIM Prepaid subscribers as they already enjoy zero rental plans.

Primarily targeted towards Post-paid RIM subscribers with low Internet usage needs, the new plan, according to telecom analysts, "is sure to help induce trial of R Connect by RIM Post-paid subscribers who are currently using other ISP services and is likely to churn them to R Connect for Internet access."

Post-paid RIM subscribers who activate R Connect service (by dialing *412 and pressing call button) will get zero rental tariff plan by default. Existing R connect subscribers in any of the R Connect tariff plans (Standard/ Silver/ Gold) can migrate from zero rental R Connect plan directly from the handset.

Customers can also migrate from zero rental R Connect tariff plan to Standard/ Silver/ Gold through call centers/ Reliance WebWorlds. This migration will be done from next billing cycle and as per current migration process.
