Reliance Big Entertainment has launched Chillx, a mobile-based platform to offer access to free and paid apps, videos, games, music, and movies.

Chillx is created by FunOnGo Media & Entertainment Company in which Reliance recently acquired a two-third stake.

Apart from the English, the app also supports regional languages like Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu. With a focus on India-centric content, the app provides access to online entertainment content that users can try before they buy and recommendations based on usage habits.

Shibasish Sarkar, COO, Reliance Big Entertainment said, “It’s a space of new opportunities and if we continue to sit and see from the sidelines, we will miss the bus.”

With plans starting at Rs. 49 per month, users can avail free, paid or ad-supported content in the app. According to the NDTV report, the Chillx app will also allow users to choose from several payment mechanisms, including telecom/carrier billing.

With offline viewing option, users will also be able to share content with friends via social media, including WhatsApp. The app also features reward points, which can be earned by liking content and inviting friends. Points can be redeemed when purchasing content in-app.

The Chillx app is available to download via Google Play Store. Reliance Entertainment also says that the app will come preloaded on smartphones of select original equipment manufacturer (OEMs) including Micromax, Intex, Lava, and Karbonn.
