CIOL Reliance Jio Money to launch merchant app next week

Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio is not just looking at making mobile phone users happy in the country but also merchants especially small merchants. So after announcing the extension of the Jio's free Welcome offer to March 31st, 2017, Ambani said that his company is launching JioMoney Merchant Solutions next week to enable digital transactions, especially among small merchants.

Demonetization has affected many but none like small vendors. Hence, JioMoney Merchant solutions will provide an ecosystem for digital transactions, a move primarily aimed at encouraging small vendors who are not able to catch up with this cashless technology.

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited said, "To enable digital transactions, merchants, especially small merchants, are important components of our economy. To fuel their transactions, Jio is working to empower Indian merchants by building a digital retail ecosystem, which we are calling JioMoney Merchant Solutions."

Available from 5 December onwards, every merchant can download the JioMoney Merchant Application. Enabling digital transaction of all types, using the JioMoney Merchant App, merchants can make supplier payments, transfer money between bank accounts and use digital petty cash.

"JioMoney is focused on signing up over 10 million small merchant retailers in the coming weeks across 17,000 towns and four lakh villages. With this, the JioMoney ecosystem will be a committed and enthusiastic partner for the smooth implementation of our Prime Minister's game-changing vision of creating a digitally-enabled and strong Indian economy," Reliance Industries’ head added.
