MUMBAI - India's top CDMA-based mobile services provider, Reliance
Communications Ltd., on Monday reported a profit for the fiscal first
quarter as users surged and networks expanded in the world's fastest growing
wireless services market.
Reliance, which also provides fixed-line services, said it make a net profit
of 5.13 billion rupees ($110.3 million) for the quarter ended June 30, compared
with a loss of 2.5 billion in the same quarter a year ago.
Total revenue rose to 32.5 billion rupees from 22.8 billion.
