MUMBAI: Reliance Communications Ltd., India's second-biggest mobile services firm, is close to signing a deal with equipment maker Alcatel-Lucent worth $300-$400 million, the Business Standard said on Friday.
The firm, part of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, is "in advanced talks" with Alcatel-Lucent and the deal is expected to be closed "soon", the newspaper said, citing industry sources.
This deal is in addition to the $1-billion contract the company is close to finalising with China's leading telecoms equipment maker Huawei Technologies
A spokesman for Reliance Communications did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
Reliance Communications had more than 28 million users at end-March in India's fast-growing market.
