Redwood to open software center in Bangalore

BANGALORE: Redwood Technologies, the US based software development company,

has announced that it is expanding its India operations by opening a second

software development center in Bangalore.

Redwood provides the software solutions for solving information overload for

investment professionals. Portfolio managers and analysts use Redwood Manager,

the company’s flagship product, to tame information overload into contextual

and actionable information.

According to the company, the India operation will play a significant role in

the company’s goal to establish itself as a global leader in financial

software for investment, banking and brokerage. Jagdish Jha, former CTO of

Netfinex, the Net venture of SSI Ltd., will now head the Redwood India

operations. Jha has two decades of experience in developing technology solutions

and has played a key role in creating solutions for global retail, corporate and

investment banks and financial institutions.

Redwood has a management team comprising of IT and Investment luminaries like

Shekar Shastri earlier with AT&T, Bell Labs and Metaphor, Rama Ramakrishnan

who was with McKinsey, Dean LeBaron, founder of Wordworks and

Virtualquest.Company and Ralph Verni, former CEO of State Street Research and

Management. Redwood is advised by Gururaj "Desh" Deshpande founder of

Sycamore Networks and Bidyut Sen, former MD of Morgan Stanley.

The company is headquartered in Boston, with offices in New Delhi and

Bangalore.
