Redpine Signals wins award for best application of energy harvesting

SAN JOSE, USA: Redpine Signals Inc. a leading developer of ultra-low-power and high-performance multi-standard wireless chipsets and systems, announced it is this year's recipient of the 5th IDTechEx energy harvesting & storage and IOT & WSN award for best application of energy harvesting.

Redpine Signals was honored for its innovative WiSeMote-EH device, which leverages the significant innovation in Redpine's Wi-Fi chipset and module products, as well as Redpine's system level products for the RTLS market.

The WiSeMote-EH device contains Redpine's ultra-low-power RS9113 M2Mcombo Wi-Fi chipset, an energy storage element, and sensors in an industrial grade plastic body, with solar cells and an e-paper display panel on the exterior.

The device finds applications in supermarkets for displaying product information updates, conferences for displaying attendee information and promotions, etc.

The IDTechEx energy harvesting & storage and IOT & WSN awards recognize company development and success in all energy harvesting technologies and applications, including the pertinent WSN fields.
