NEW DELHI: Speedera Networks Inc., a top tier global provider of content
delivery services, has announced that it had been selected as content delivery
service provider for the portal major, Rediff.com India Ltd.
Speedera's content delivery network will enable delivery of Rediff.com's web
pages much faster, by routing content requests to the server closest to each
user's location. Speedera's services have significantly improved Rediff.com's
web site performance without requiring any capital expenditure or additional
site infrastructure.
"With the global Indian community growing more diverse and more
dispersed, a combination of an online-offline resource like Rediff.com allows
consumers to remain connected for all their relevant communication, community
and content needs with their friends and families around the world," said
Venki Nishtala, senior executive vice president of Rediff.com.
"Speedera has helped solve our online content delivery problem, allowing
us to attract and retain customers while saving us considerable amounts of time
and money," he said.
Its services has enabled us to deliver improved, consistent performance while
at the same time cutting back on our need to hire more IT staff and invest in
additional web site infrastructure. This has saved us the expense of building an
additional data center and deploying more servers," added Nishtala.
Rediff.com uses several Speedera services from web content delivery to global
load balancing. The ability to use an integrated set of services, all of which
use a common global delivery network that can be managed through a single
browser-based interface was the key criteria in Rediff going in for Speedera.
