Red Hat signs 15 new ISVs in India, Sri Lanka

BANGALORE: Red Hat, the world's leading provider of OpenSource solutions to the enterprise, has added fifteen new additions to its Independent Software Vendor (ISV) partner ecosystem.

Red Hat will work closely with these ISVs to ensure that their applications are certified on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux platform, states a company press release.






Red Hat India has partnered with over 50 ISV partners who are working on certifying their applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.





The Red Hat Partner Community is a network of hundreds of technology companies, including OEMs, ISVs, System Integratos, training organizations, distributors and resellers. The Red Hat Partner Community is designed to encourage the combination of OpenSource and traditional technologies into the fabric of enterprise computing to provide technology solutions that give customers more choice.


Red Hat's partner ecosystem continues to expand, over 400 types of hardware and 1,000 applications are already certified on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.



Javed Tapia, Director, Red Hat India, said," Red Hat is committed to providing support to Indian ISVs who wish to certify applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux." According to the latest statistics released by Evans Data Corporation, nearly two-thirds (64%) of APAC developers are confident that they will write a Linux application in the coming year. He further added, "We are witnessing tremendous demand from Indian ISVs for certifying their applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. The fact that our ISV ecosystem is growing rapidly is an indicator of the rapid acceptance and momentum of Linux in India."






The fifteen ISVs that have confirmed their allegiance to Red Hat's ISV community have market leading applications in diverse verticals such as banking, insurance, education, manufacturing, healthcare, etc., according to the release.





A two day program 'Red Hat Developer Connection, Leveraging OpenSource' was held at The Retreat, Mumbai on 7-8th January' 05. Over 50 ISVs from across India focused on varied verticals and catering to different market geographies within the Indian subcontinent participated in the program.








The Red Hat Partner Program was established in 1999 with computing leaders Dell, IBM, Intel, HP, and Oracle.
