Red Hat partners Spider Systems for regional training

NEW DELHI: Red Hat India, open source and Linux provider, has announced the

appointment of Pune-based Spider Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of iGATE

Capital, USA, as it's regional training partner, to promote Red Hat Linux at the

desktop and enterprise level. The alliance with Spider Systems will entail the

latter to provide Red Hat Linux training in the region in addition to Linux

implementation and support services.

The Red Hat India and Spider Systems alliance, is a part of Red Hat's efforts

to extend the scope of professional training opportunities available to Linux

systems and software professionals and position them to take greater advantage

of the expanding Linux marketplace. The alliance will entail Red Hat India

authorizing, Spider Systems to carry out the Red Hat Certified courses in the

region. Spider Systems will impart the internationally renowned RH033, RH133 and

RH253 courses in Pune in addition to conducting the RHCE certification

examination at their premises.

The students on completion of Red Hat certified courses will be eligible to

appear for the Red Hat Certified Examination, which will be held by certified

Red Hat India personnel. Red Hat hopes to target over 300 certifications in the

first year of the alliance.

"Linux is playing an increasingly important role in enterprises,

government organizations and education institutes due to its inherent benefits -

stability, reliability and scalability. A lot of universities, including Pune

University, have already begun to adopt Linux and we anticipate the future skill

sets to be in Linux. Our alliance with Spider Systems, will help us address this

growing need for Linux education in India. Red Hat's education initiatives

abroad have met with tremendous success and we hope to see the same story

repeated here too," said Javed Tapia, Director, Red Hat India.

He further added, "We would like to make IT certification meaningful and

add value for both individuals and employers and in the process create Linux

awareness at the desktop and enterprise level. Systems professionals with RHCE

certifications are already in great demand. Hence our continuous drive to make

Linux education accessible all across India by allying with various educational

partners."
