Red Hat Linux 7.1 now available in three versions

NEW DEHI: Red Hat India, a company dealing in developing, deploying and

managing open source solutions, has announced the availability of Red Hat Linux

7.1, the latest version of Red Hat's open source server operating environment.

Red Hat Linux 7.1 includes the new 2.4 kernel with improved SMP support for

superior performance on Intel multi-processor platforms. Red Hat Linux 7.1 also

delivers new configuration tools that enable users to effortlessly set up and

administer DNS, Web and print servers.

In India, Red Hat Linux 7.1 will be available in all the three versions

Standard, Deluxe and Professional that includes the Red Hat Linux operating

system, installation manual, support and Red Hat Network. Red Hat Linux Deluxe

and Professional versions include productivity applications, StarOffice Office

Suite, Loki Games CD and user guides. Red Hat India director Javed Tapia said,

"The Red Hat Linux 7.1 is a truly enterprise class operating system with

improved multiprocessing capability, heightened security and easy

administerability. The new version will help enterprises adopt Linux faster and

gain benefits of open source environment. Red Hat India will offer requisite

support and training services for the product."
