Rational’s SEED program represents a long-term commitment to provide its

software suite free of cost to help colleges and universities. This is a part of

the company’s plan to intensify its SEED program, which was launched in India

in 1998, with a view to promote good software engineering skills.

Talking on the fresh initiative for SEED, Rational Software country manager

Bharatee said, "The SEED program is intended to help the academic community

to overcome their financial constraints in making software technology available

for hands-on use by students. This will make them keep pace with the industry.

We are donating these only for educational purpose and not with any commercial

aim."

Speaking on the occasion, IIIT-Bangalore director Prof. S Sadagopan said,

"IIIT will be greatly benefited by Rational’s SEED program as our

students will be able to use Rational’s products to develop their

projects."

worth around Rs 85 lakh. So far, the company has donated its software to the

Indian Institute of Science, Indian Institutes of Technology-Mumbai, Chennai and

Kanpur, the Indian Institutes of Management-Bangalore, Calcutta and Indore and
