Rational competency center in Wipro Tech

BANGALORE: Wipro Technologies has opened a state of the art Rational Competency center at the floating learning center of Wipro’s Electronic City campus in Bangalore. Wipro’s competencies built through the Rational Competency Center will help improve quality and predictability of software projects and lead to faster implementations due to conformity of software platform with the client. Wipro will also offer consulting services on Rational tools and methodologies including Rational Unified Process.

Wipro’s Rational certified trainers are expected to build on the company’s competence on Rational tools and methodologies by certifying over 150 employees on the latest Rational technologies.

"The Rational competency lab will create an environment that will empower our employees to learn, and combine those learnings with a results-driven approach to deliver higher value to customers. The Center will provide our customers with improved predictability of software projects, and seamless implementation of large and complex projects" said, Wipro Technologies, CEO, Vivek Paul. "The center will provide a constant learning continuum that will add value to our employees and the customers they serve."

The state-of-the-art lab is equipped with licenses of Rational Enterprise Suite and Rational Suite Realtime and 500 licenses for the Web Based Trainings on Rational Unified Process (RUP). This Web Based Training program will encourage self-learning and on-line training at the employees’ convenience. The Competency Center has a well-equipped library, dedicated to books and publications on methodologies and tools from Rational.

Rational Software is conducting a series of training sessions, which aims to create expertise in the three streams of Object Orientation, Configuration Management, and Testing. The sessions conducted by leading experts in each field will have stringent processes for certifying Wipro Trainers. Rational Certified Trainers would be contributing to white papers and as members of the Rational Development Network they would have access to the latest of technologies from Rational.
