Ram Info expanding overseas business

HYDERABAD: Ram Informatics Limited is looking to expand its overseas business by working in partnership with various business associates. The company, in partnership with Pune-based Software Technology Park Limited, is bidding for an e-commerce project in Nigeria. The deal is of 15-18 months duration and worth $3 million, according to R Jagadeeswara Rao, executive director, Ram Informatics.

On a similar model the company is providing offshore software services in the US and Middle East. While Ram Informatics works on the software, its business partners carry out the marketing activities, said Rao.

For the Middle East market, the company is specifically targeting offer its banking solutions. Ram Informatics, which also provides insurance solutions, has two banking solutions – Smart Banker, a client server product for total branch automation and the centralized solution eSmart Banker.

Rao added the company’s primary focus would be on India. The company is bidding for the central government’s citizen services kiosk project in states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Ram Informatics is also in talks with the governments of Tamil Nadu, MP, Rajasthan, Uttaranchal and Chandigarh to provide its e-governance solutions.

Meanwhile, the company is also launching a portal to cater the insurance sector. The portal would go live next week, said Rao. Besides catering to the general public, insurance agents and development officers, the portal would also offer all the products of Ram Informatics’ in a web-based format on a subscription basis.
