Raksha Group forays into 3D animation market

BANGALORE: Morphosys Information Services Pvt. Ltd, a Raksha Group subsidiary has forayed into hyper-realistic 3D animated movie project. The project was inaugurated by Governor of Karnataka TN Chaturvedi.

"The movie 'Honour and Country' in tribute to India's first war of independence 1857, is expected to hit the market in 2008,” said Rajesh Kumar, CMD, Raksha Group.

"Raksha Group with this project plans to push Morphosys to be one of the top ten 3D animation studio in the country,” he added.

Kumar said that the movies' pre-production and post production is developed in its in-house production studio in Bangalore.

International market for 3D contents, IT skills, low cost of production and application across the platforms – television, DVD, theatrical and games are expected to drive the Indian animation industry to reach $869 million by 2010.

To explore more avenues in the animation industry, Morphosys has also proposed to venture into mobile gaming market.
