Rajni soon to be a gaming character

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Southern superstar Rajnikanth will soon be as an animated gaming character, after the release of his ‘Sultan – The Warrior,’ the animated movie.

Talking to CyberMedia News, Saundarya Rajnikanth, CEO and managing director of Ocher Studios said that the animated movie, ‘Sultan – The Warrior’ will be released in 2008.

Taking a cue of the popularity Rajnikanth enjoys, the movie will also be launched as an animated game. “Similar to the Pokemon and Beyblades, Sultan will also be made into a gaming series. We are also working on merchandising Sultan,” she said.

“The movie will have Rajnikanth in an animated form and is the first of its kind to have a movie of a living cinema star in an animated version. The animated movie, made at a budget of Rs 10 crore will have Rajnikanth’s unique signature styles, mannerisms and dialogues.

The movie will also be launched in Telugu, Hindi and English,” she informed. “We are also launching the movie in other international markets such as Japan where there are plenty of Rajnikanth’s fans,” she said. Sultan is a joint production between Adlabs and Ocher Studios.

“AR Rahman will be scoring the music, while Thotta Tharani works on the art. William Ong from Malaysia has been roped-in for action. More than 80 per cent of animation work is being done out of Chennai,” she added.
