JAIPUR, INDIA: Raj IT Forum, an independent body of IT dealers in Jaipur, has raised a finger at Rajasthan Computer Traders’ Association (RCTA) citing non-commitment to their members.

The forum has accused RCTA of showing sluggish attitude towards welfare of the channel community in Rajasthan and for being inactive, where taking stern actions against default parties is concerned.

The issue came to light when Adesh Sant, Proprietor of Creations, published an advertisement in the local media for sale of HP and Dell laptops in Jaipur. Channel partners in Jaipur have alleged that Creations had several cases of default payments with several partners including Seatel Electronics and Tinnu International a few months back, and the case has now moved to courtroom.

Members of Raj IT Forum have pointed out that despite the allegations, Creations continues to do business with big vendors like HP and Dell, and RCTA has taken no action against parties indulging in unethical trade practices in the market.

Also, Creations is offering 10 percent discount to customers on the sale of HP and Dell laptops, which is intended to draw a large base of buyers.

Raj IT Forum has circulated a mail to RCTA stating that despite everything, Sant continues to doing business and RCTA has not been effective in stopping such parties.

One of the members of Raj IT Forum has circulated an anonymous e-mail to RCTA stating that as a dealer he has not received any instructions from RCTA regarding refraining from doing business with Creations and in the absence of such instructions the association is inviting trouble and more such defaulters.

The mail also states that RCTA should publish and share the names of defaulters with everyone for the common interest of the dealers.

While replying to the allegations put forth by Raj IT Forum, Deepak Sharda, Secretary, RCTA informed that it is not true that RCTA has not taken any steps against the defaulters.

Discussing the matter further, Sharda said, “We have circulated a mail to all the national distributors, vendors and partners stating that RCTA has received complaints against Creations as a defaulter and the association requests everyone to stop doing business transactions with it.”

“Unless we take such kind of harsh measures, we can not safeguard the common interest of members as few of our distributors and partners are also engaged in legal issues with Creations. RCTA will take stringent action against all those parties, including vendors, distributors and resellers, who are spoiling the market harmony and supporting unethical trade practices,” stated Sharda in a mail circulated to distributors and resellers.

Refuting the allegations as a bid by members outside of RCTA to create friction in the association, Sharda commented, “RCTA has been carrying out initiatives to stop the distributors and vendors from dealing with Creations. We also got to know that Delhi-based Microclinic, that has Rs 32 lakh stuck with Creations, has restarted selling HP laptops to Creations We have requested HP to stop cross-border infiltration of products in Rajasthan and have questioned the vendor for supporting defaulters for the sake of doing business.”

RCTA has also requested Tarun Seth, CEO, Micro Clinic to understand the seriousness of this issue and to immediately stop all the supplies to Creations. Seth from Microclinic refused to give his comment on the matter.

Regarding the unavailability of information about the default parties in the market, Sharda clarified that www.rctaonline.com, web portal of RCTA contains all the latest information and anyone can visit the site to get updated.

Sant from Creations had earlier clarified that he is not intended to do payment default with the parties but some of his payments were delayed for few reasons and he is paying to everyone gradually. He had stated that dealers in Jaipur are not worried about the payment defaults but they are insecure because of the good relation he has developed with vendors in a short span of two years.
