Rain Concert lines up three-pronged expansion

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, INDIA: As part of its expansion plan, the Kerala-based Rain Concert Technologies has kicked off new strategies aimed at future growth. The new areas of spread include strategic tie-ups with players in emerging areas such as conservation technology, utility electronics and mobile applications.

Talking to CIOL.com, R Abhilash , CEO, Rain Concert Technologies said that the company has, in fact, chalked out aggressive moves in mainly three areas. “We would be looking at increasing the existing talent pool, forging partnerships with companies in various emerging technology arenas, and also expansion into overseas territory”.

“We are in fact looking at establishing our presence in emerging markets such as the Middle East re3gion and South Africa,” he said.

The company already has offices in Dubai and Saudi Arabia, while a new centre will come up in Qatar. In India, the company has its offices in Thiruvananthapuram and New Delhi.

Taking forward its future growth path, Rain Concert Technologies has taken up space at the Thiruvananthapuram Technopark and will move in on January 1 2010, he added.

The company, which has adopted a phased expansion plan to increase resource strength in research and development (R&D) domains of mobile, web and electronics and engineering, will take its employee strength to 500 in the next three years. Rain Concert currently employs 120 technology professionals.

This apart, the company’s initiatives in the mobile application decision has resulted in the development of high end mobile applications and tools that are used in mobile sites, home security devices with mobile phones, home automation devices, personalized alert systems, m-commerce apps and office applications.

Abhilash added that the company has also been involved in the outsourcing arena with its division christened Aarthika Technologies. The outsourcing division is into development of solutions such as high end web applications, rich internet applications, e-governance, social networking apps, web-based CRM and ERP solutions.
