Raid on IBS for illegal software

BANGALORE, INDIA: Unlicensed versions of SAP Software were seized following a raid on Kolkata-based Integrated Business Solution Limited (IBS). The police also seized the computers and servers which were having pirated copies of SAP software. IBS was also conducting unauthorized SAP training.

The Delhi High Court had ordered the raid following a civil suit for Infringement of Copyright filed by SAP India.

“SAP is extremely determined to crack down on institutes offering unauthorized training on SAP software and the civil action instituted against IBS is one of the many actions that SAP has instituted against unauthorized training Institutes, across the country. We are looking at further intensifying our campaign by working closely with the authorities against these unauthorized training institutes,” said Alan Sedghi, president and CEO, SAP Indian Subcontinent.

Indian Satellite Research & Development Organization (ISRDO) in New Delhi, Growel Softech Ltd. located in Noida, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Hyderabad and Mumbai, SAPzen Consulting India Pvt. Ltd located at Bangalore and Mumbai, and the Bangalore offices of NeoLogik and United Systems India Pvt. Ltd were also raided earlier.

SAP has set up a community of Education Partners across India to offer training on its technologies.
