Radix to offer free accounting software on the Net

NEW DELHI: Radix Infotech Ltd. (Radix), an Indian micro ERP company for SMEs,

has launched a new accounting software package called FINPAK. FINPAK is

available exclusively over the Net. It may be downloaded absolutely

free-of-charge from the Web site, www.finpak.com, and is backed by a cash

guarantee against flaws. The Web site will become operational from January 13,

2001.

The package is scalable to suit very small businesses as well as ones with a

turnover of up to Rs 500 crore. Radix has also designed a Web based support

service for the users of FINPAK. These include Q&As on a one-to-one basis

with FINPAK experts as well as a free message board for users.

FINPAK has been developed with the venture capital funding of IFCI and

Canbank. It took 6 years to develop the software and the expenditure on R&D

was Rs 4 crore. As the software can be downloaded from the Net free of cost, the

revenue generation will be through the services offered to users.
