The research and developments centers should have more creative minds. Innovation leads to technology development and hence the development of the country.”

Emphasizing on creativity, he said creativity should be imbibed in lives and it is a gradual process. “See everything like everyone else, but think differently about it. Creativity brings innovation, which leads to knowledge and knowledge makes a man great.”

He shared that three basic elements can help in building such a process that bring prosperity to the country — that is father, mother and the primary school teacher. They help in building righteousness of heart, which brings beauty in character. Beauty in character leads to harmony in home, order in nation, and when nations are in order, there is peace in the world.

He said, “Small innovative idea like free calls, country-wide calls on a small amount etc has made India the largest growing telecom market. India would have the cheapest rates throughout the world.”

Dr Kalam also shared the examples of sachet, jet airplanes by DRDO and the electronic voting machines (EVMs) used in India. Even the history has seen a few examples of great inventions and discoveries in India by C V Raman, Subramaniam Chandrashekhar etc.

However, among the words of praises, he cautioned that national ethics is very important for sustained economic growth. The country should work towards spreading education and in the coming years we should look forwards to making broadband as free and ubiquitous like roads.
