Quint to launch Performance Based Management Soln

BANGALORE, INDIA: To help enterprises plug wasteful IT expenditure and optimize performance, Quint, an independent management consulting firm specializing in IT-related organizational challenges, is planning to introduce the first ever Performance Based Management Solution (PBSM) in India.

PBSM is a unique module from Quint which offers an organization the choice to make optimum benefits from their existing IT resources. It involves a timely process while crucial points will be worked upon and measured through a focused methodology.

Sunil Mehta, Country Manager, Quint, told CIOL that PBSM solution has been designed to help enterprises avoid IT redundancies, cut hardware downtime and improve processes. "Quint can work out the pain areas in an organization in a record time of three to four months and suggest best practices which will have a focused approach," he said.

Quint is planning to launch the PBSM solution in India in March. “We hope enterprises across verticals will adopt the model and to begin with we will be targeting our already existing 220 odd customers in India,” Mehta disclosed.

The uniqueness of the PBSM solution, according to Mehta, is that the solution comes with ‘Gain and pay model’ of revenue sharing. Enterprises entering into an agreement for the implementation of PBSM need to  pay a portion in the reduced IT cost to Quint only after they start making profits from the pain areas addressed.

Process

The process of this unique methodology includes preparation of an analysis and then coming out with a solution. As a final step in the process, the IT staff at the customer location will be trained by Quint experts in order to ensure that the process is followed
flawlessly over the years.

Elaborating on PBSM, Mehta said that the solution had been developed by Quint through its vast knowledge and experience on IT-related organizational challenges.

According to Mehta, conventionally, in order to address such IT issues, enterprises hire a IT Consultancy firm which would typically take about 8 – 10 moths to identify the pain points and make recommendations for improvement. Thereafter the customer has to wait for few more years to realize the profits. Our focused approach ensures that a customer starts realizing the benefit in a few weeks time," Mehta said.

Further, the economic slowdown has hit the IT companies in a big way and organizations are undergoing business cuts. This has put outsourcing under shambles, he added.

Proven methodology

"The PBSM methodology has been proved to be highly effective in Netherlands where it was launched a few months ago. The implementation in Hertel, a leading industrial maintenance company, has resulted in reduction of critical incidence by 50 percent and implementation at Central Bureau of Statistics, Netherlands has resulted in faster completion of analysis of companies, almost from nine days previously to just three days," Mehta said.
