Quicklogic sets up development center in B’lore

BANGALORE: US based QuickLogic, one of the leading enterprises in ESPs ( embedded Standard Products), today announced the opening of their new design center in Bangalore thereby expanding their software development capabilities.

QuickLogic chairman, president and CEO, Tom Hart said, " Silicon valley has long recognized the quality of engineering talent in India and when we decided to expand our software staff, India was the first place we considered. We will employ top-level engineers to participate in all phases of creating and enhancing software for users of the company’s semiconductor families".

QuickLogic had partnered with Sasken technologies on product design and have now retained the same staff numbering around 18 to work on this project and plan to recruit more in the coming days. He emphasised the importance of software development to the company’s success and noted that Indian software talent will be deployed to create state-of-art products. Regarding their current plans, he said the new center will produce advanced design tools for QuickLogic ESPs and to involve team member in every stage of their projects

"Our core strength lies in the ‘Die Size-small size but a large memory’ of our products. We find a huge market in this area as ESP market is estimated to grow at 20 per cent of CAGR by 2005 and a market revenue of $ 4 billion. Our turnover was around $33million for the last fiscal " said Tom Hart.
