Quick Heal launches Guardian Anti Virus

NEW DELHI, INDIA: To tap the SOHO and home user segment, Guardian Anti Virus, a division of Quick Heal Technologies launched Guardian Anti Virus software (a three-in-one protection for PC user).

The company has appointed Kolkata-based NCS Computech and Gurgaon-based eSys as the national distributors for the product.

Guardian Quick Heal is looking to target the B, C and D-class cities with this new product that has been priced at an MRP of Rs 849.

Talking about the USP of the product, Pradeep Dixit, product manager, Guardian Anti Virus Software mentioned that the software provides protection against viruses, root kits and spy wares.

“We are looking to sell at least 20,000 licenses a month and should be able to touch 50,000 by next quarter,” he added.

Jagannath Patnaik, VP—Sales and Marketing, Quick Heal mentioned that Guardian Anti Virus is going to create awareness amongst the home users to use genuine and licensed product, as they cannot afford to lose out on their work. He further stated that this move would also discourage the piracy market.

Elaborating on the support extended to the users, Patnaik stated, “Quick Heal already has a call center in Nasik where customers can call for further assistance and any technical support. Besides the company will also be extending support through their branch offices.”

On the other hand, Dixit mentioned that appointing distributors for Guardian Anti Virus will help them approach the end customers in a more organized way besides ensuring availability of the product.

As an introductory offer Quick Heal will be offering an additional pack free to its channel partners and distributors.

Speaking about the appointment, Manohar Malani, CEO, NCS Computech said, “We have been associated with Quick Heal since 1994 and given that we are present in 17 cities already our company will make every effort to push the product further. Besides many a times partners and consumers are not aware of where one can get a low-cost software. Having a distributor in place will ensure availability of products. Since this product is targeted at the home users and has been designed keeping in mind their requirements besides being low priced, it will be received well by the home segment as with the new product they (consumers) also get an alternate to pirated software.”
