Quest opens shop in Shanghai

BANGALORE: Engineering solutions provider Quest has set up a wholly owned subsidiary in Shanghai, China. Incorporated as Quest Shanghai, the subsidiary is expected to be operational in January 2004.



The decision to open a unit in China has mainly come from their customer’s demand to service them from there.



Aravind Melligeri, President, Quest said "the company plans to hire local talent for this Chinese unit and will begin operations in China with a total of 50 engineers. The unit will be used to support Quest’s customer network in China in design and manufacturing related areas".



Quest offers solutions for advanced technology products in Aerospace, Automotive, Energy & Power Generation, Oil & Gas, and Industrial Product domains. A Six Sigma trained company, Quest expertise ranges from concept to product realization fortune and caters to several 500 companies in developing world-class products cost effectively, leveraging technology strengths of its global resources and robust processes.



Quest was founded by Ajit Prabhu and Aravind Melligeri in 1997 in Schenectady, New York, USA and later established in Bangalore, India in 1998. The company works on product engineering designs for renowned customers like General Electric, United Technologies, General Motors, and Ford. The company currently employs over 550 professionals and technical engineering staff across offices in United States, India, United Kingdom, China, Italy, and Japan.
