BANGALORE: The strategic alliance of Quantum and PowerQuest corporation offers customers the combined solution of Quantum's NAS products and PowerQuest software and enables them to restore anything from an entire network operating system to information from an individual file.

Quantum customers can implement a multi-faceted disaster recovery solution that consists of storing static image files of PCs or servers onto a Quantum Snap Server or Guardian NAS server through PowerQuest DeployCenter, allowing quick and simple recovery of complete partitions or individual files. At the same time, PowerQuest DataKeeper continuously monitors desktop file activity while running in the background, automatically creating and saving a backup to the Quantum NAS server every time a file is modified.

Additionally, PowerQuest’s DeployCenter provides an effective method of creating and deploying custom images to client systems using a Quantum Snap Server or Guardian server. DeployCenter offers ease-of-use through scheduling and reporting capabilities and virtual floppy technology, which removes the need for boot disks. With DeployCenter, customers can deploy images to multiple systems or deploy an upgrade for a single application within minutes.

" System failures on a single hard drive or an entire network can result in lost or unavailable operating systems, application software and irreplaceable data. Quantum and PowerQuest are working together to offer data asset protection solutions that are cost effective and simple to administer for any organization, whether a small business or a Fortune 1000," said Steve Rogers, vice president of networked storage products marketing of Quantum’s Storage Solutions Group.

"Our alliance will enable us to deliver those benefits directly to customers through a combined hardware and software solution," he added.
