BANGALORE: Quantum Corp., provider of data storage solutions, has announced the availability of the “MAKO” PX720, an enterprise tape automation library that according to the company is specifically designed to address backup and archive operations, while reducing customer costs.
Built from five generations of Quantum enterprise experience, the company claims that MAKO provides management and redundancy features at no extra cost to increase reliability and shrink downtime through system monitoring and reduced failures.
Additionally, MAKO affords customers the ability to pay only for the storage they need when they need it through Performance on Demand (PoD), thereby reducing upfront outlays and allowing for more accurate storage cost forecasts. A single MAKO frame can scale up to 20 DLTtape or LTO drives.
According to the company, through management and redundancy features included in MAKO at no cost and its adaptability into existing environments value added resellers (VARs) and other channel partners now have a system they can easily sell with their consulting and integration services.
According to the company, MAKO can scale to more than 3,350 slots and up to 100 drives. It will be distributed through Quantum’s extensive OEM and channel network of Value Added Resellers (VARs) in India.
