Qualcomm sets up office in Dubai

BANGALORE, INDIA: Developer of advanced wireless technologies Qualcomm Incorporated today opened a new branch office in Dubai, affirming its commitment to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) markets.

The company said in a release that the office located in the Dubai Internet City will serve as a hub for Qualcomm's regional business interests and will provide support for device manufacturers, network operators and other industry participants that are driving the area's fast growing mobile broadband market.

"The MENA region is witnessing impressive growth in both the quantity and quality of telecommunication services," said Jing Wang, executive vice president of Qualcomm Asia Pacific and Middle East/Africa.

"This growth has created a healthy and competitive business environment that is giving consumers increased access to wireless services at progressively lower prices. Our new office in Dubai enables Qualcomm to serve the region more effectively," Wang added.

Qualcomm has 70 offices located across the globe and is working with more than 150 partners.
