Qualcomm India was also ranked number one in the telecommunications sector by the same study.

“I believe our people and our employee focus form the foundation of our company. Success in global business, with global talent, while preserving our unique culture puts Qualcomm ahead of its industry peers,” said Kanwalinder Singh, president of Qualcomm India and South Asia.

Qualcomm was ranked 21st in the same study in 2007 and also earned a place among FORTUNE’s list of “100 Best Companies to Work For in America” for 10 consecutive years.

“Our recognition in the ‘Best Workplaces’ stems from a foundation of open communication, employee-friendly policies and active senior management stewardship,” said Daaman Hejmadi, senior director of Engineering for Qualcomm Bangalore R&D center.

The ‘Best Workplaces 2008’ study covered 200 participating companies and 36,000 employees.
