QNAP expands Turbo NAS lineup for SMB users

TAIWAN, TAIPEI: QNAP Systems, Inc., a provider in NAS servers, NVR video surveillance systems, and network-based multimedia players, recently announced that they have expanded their Turbo NAS lineup with the addition of the TS-410U rack-mounted NAS server targeted specifically at the SMB and workgroup market segments.

The TS-410U features 4 hot-swappable SATA hard drives with up to 8TB of total capacity (with 2TB drives) packaged in a compact 1U rack-mounted chassis. It supports 2.5" or 3.5" hard drives and features a Marvell 800MHz CPU and 512MB DDRII memory which provides sustained high performance with low power consumption, said a press release.

"Most business users desire a network attached server of high stability, flexible storage expansion, and low maintenance cost. QNAP TS-410U packed with abundant server features is the ideal solution for them," said Laurent Cheng, Product Manager from QNAP Systems, Inc.

The TS-410U offers comprehensive management tools, such as schedule power on/off feature, smart fan settings, e-mail and SMS alert, detailed event and connection logs for IT administrators to maintain the server.

It is packed with essential business features including cross-platform support for mixed Windows, Macintosh, Linux, and UNIX environments, centralized backup for all computers attached to the network, recording of surveillance video from networked IP cameras, and advanced security features such as policy-based IP blocking, Windows Active Directory support, etc, said the release.

The TS-410U can be configured as an FTP server, stand-alone file server, print server, and even for encrypted remote replication of another QNAP NAS on the network.

The product is globally available in October through commercial distributors, resellers, and e-tailers.
