BANGALORE, INDIA: QuikTech has launched the Personal Edition of QlikView. It is slated to be the first fully-functional, free downloadable business intelligence tool for personal use. It lets users design applications for any environment, making it easy for anyone to develop their own QlikView applications with no previous training or technical expertise.

A few enterprise customers have already started trying out the BI tool. Sjur Usken of the Honeynet project, an international, non-profit (501c3) research organization dedicated to improving the security of the internet at no cost to the public, used QlikView Personal Edition to develop a custom QlikView application in a matter of hours. The application allows Usken to put the large quantity of data that the organization has collected about malicious bots and malware on the web in context and quickly identify new types of attacks and their originating IP address.

“The QlikView application that I was able to build on my own has enabled me to quickly drill down through large amounts of data,” said Usken. “QlikView not only helps to speed up my analysis work, but also helps me to support the Honeynet Project’s mission of effectively improving the security of the Internet.”
