Pune, the new hot IT recruitment hub for Japan

PUNE: Pune is the new destination for the Japanese firms hunting for quality information professionals. A delegation from Japan is in the city for a 12-day visit, in order to study the IT scenario, Pune’s strengths as an IT center, its educational institutes and infrastructure for training IT professionals.



Towards this end, the companies have got together to constitute a firm called the Indian IT Engineering Placement Offshore Development Company Corporation (iPOC), with investment from C-Cube, NTC and RBE Corporation, to help choose the best from among the IT professionals in the city.



To begin with, IPOC will recruit 100 professionals this year and the number is expected to go up year after year. Till date, 32 IT professionals from Pune have been placed iPOC, Japan. Addressing a press conference, Kenji Ohashi, CEO, iPOC, said that the job opportunities were up for grabs in Japanese companies like NTT Docomo, CTC, BEA, Oracle Japan, Hitachi, Toshiba, and Denso, which is part of Toyota. He said that Japan was looking for top-level system analysts, project managers and specialists from India.
