Prosperous future for product Cos: Kiran Karnik

BANGALORE: The current vibrant domestic market promises a prosperous future for product companies, said Kiran Karnik, IT visionary and former President of NASSCOM, during an opening note in the second day session of NASSCOM Product Conclave and Expo 2009 here.

He further said, “I can't think of a better opportunity for the product companies now. Long before we have agonised that it is time to move to product space since we have a good base in the service industry.”

Karnik reiterated that earlier there was no critical sized domestic market. It is not just enough to have talent and people; if the market is thousands of miles away it doesn't serve the purpose. Today the size and kind of domestic market is good and have prospective circumstances.”

Karnik said there is a desperate need for product companies.
