NEW DELHI,INDIA: Close on the heels of the email threat that President Pratibha Patil on Sunday, during her visit to Pune to inaugurate the Commonwealth Youth Games, the Rashtrapati Bhavan reportedly received five more e-mail threats on Tuesday.
Official sources said the e-mails sent from the ID “black.monolith@gmail.com”, threatened the President with dire consequences.
However, no organization has claimed responsibility for the mail. While the security agencies traced the first email to Tamil Nadu, probe is on to ascertain from where the new mails originated.
Though it was found that Sunday’s threat mail was sent form an Airtel Internet connection, the service provider couldn’t provide any further details about the same. All the e-mails were sent to the President’s official website -www.presidentofindia.gov.in.
Following the email threat during her Pune visit, which said the attackers may come in ‘any disguise’, the President’s security was further tightened and a new bullet-proof vehicle was provided to her.
Security agencies are of the opinion that the e-mail has been sent by some maniac.
This is not for the first time that VVIPs are getting threatening emails. Recently a 30-year-old student of Shillong Law College was arrested for sending an email, threatening to kill BJP leader L K Advani during his visit to Shillong.
