Premji meets Ministry of Industry of France

PARIS, FRANCE: Wipro Technologies, a provider of IT services, announced on Wednesday that Azim Premji, chairman of Wipro Ltd met Christian Estrosi, Ministry of Industry, France. The meeting aims to discuss Wipro’s IT Services growth strategy for France, said a press release.

Estrosi said, “ The development of bi-lateral business and cultural relationships between India and France is important for both the countries and it is heartening to know that Wipro works closely with leading French corporations ”.

Speaking on Wipro’s presence in France, Azim Premji, chairman, Wipro Ltd said, “We reiterate our commitment to France, a key growth market for Wipro. We look forward to growing our presence, serving our customers effectively and creating employment opportunities in the country.”

During the discussion, both Estrosi and Premji also spoke about Wipro’s worldwide exit from the IP Connectivity activity which implied the closure of its Sophia Antipolis Center. Exemplary social measures are being implemented to support the employees.

These measures provide significant support to encourage employment and entrepreneurship, as well as financial benefits, the release added.

In addition, Wipro is committed to work with Local Authorities to encourage local employment regeneration.

Christophe Martinoli, head of France, Wipro Technologies added, “With the continued investment and our focus on creating a skilled talent base in France, we intend to double our staff base and revenues in the next 18 months to serve our French customers across industries such as Manufacturing, Retail, Telecom, Energy & Utilities, Banking and Insurance”.
