Premji re-appointed Wipro chairman till July '11

MUMBAI, INDIA: Indian business conglomerate and software giant Wipro announced on Thursday that it has re-appointed Azim Premji as the chairman and managing director of the company for a further period of two-years, July 2011.

The decision was approved by the Wipro shareholders, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday night. His re-appointment would be effective from July 31, 2009.

The company statement said that the annual general meeting held on July 21 also approved the final dividend of Rs 4 per share. Wipro also re-appointed M/s BSR and Co as the company auditors.
