NAGPUR, INDIA: In their bid to set up a new committee for the period 2009-2011, VCMDWA (Vidarbha Computer & Media Dealers' Welfare Association held its election at the association's IT Hall on August 1, 2009. While, Prashant Ugemuge of Vidarbha Infotech has been unanimously re-elected as the President, Reeta Budhay of Business Algorithms was elected as the secretary.
This is the first time in the history of VCMDWA that a woman candidate has been appointed as one of the prominent office bearers.
On the other hand Prashant Bulbule of Surabhi Enterprises has been re-elected as Treasurer. Other office bearers include Hitesh Parikh of Micropro Software Solutions as Vice President, Rajesh Saboo of Shreyas Infotech as Joint Secretary, Vinay Dharmadhikari of Vincom Systems, Sonu Kewalramani of Silver Systems and Virendra Patrikar of Was Anu Compsys have been elected as executive members.
Post his re-election as the President of VCMDWA, Ugemuge stated, “We have resolved to work in coherence with all members and bring more information to residents of Nagpur through various activities, which will further boost information technology business in the region. We will carry some management seminars around implications of service tax for our members and staff to spread awareness around the best practices for IT trade.”
The members also discussed several new initiatives and ideas that can be undertaken to promote IT related activities, during the meeting. Post the discussion, VCMDWA will be rolling out a major advertising campaign to promote retail business in Nagpur.
Giving further insight into the initiative, Ugemuge shared, “In order to ensure that more and more customers opt for those retailers who are our members, the association will shortly roll out a retail campaign in Nagpur. While the advertising campaign will offer gift hampers and a number of attractive prizes to customers, it will also go a long way in ensuring that the IT business happens through our members who are also genuine and authorized dealers in the region.”
