Powertech, Walton, Thailin incomes increase

TAIPEI, TAIWAN: Semicon players Powertech Technology (PTI), Walton Advanced Engineering and Thailin Semiconductor have listed chronological income increase for the month of April 2010, but Formosa Advanced Technologies (FATC) saw its revenues fall 2.3 per cent in the same month.

PTI has announced consolidated revenues for the month of April 2010 were NT$3 billion (US$94 million), up 1.7 per cent consecutively and 36.3 per cent on year. The outcome in addition scored its maximum monthly level for the second time successively.

PTI said second-quarter revenues would develop by single digits consecutively, and the company is more positive about the third quarter thanks to the ramping of latest capacity.

Walton has reported revenues of NT$603 million for the month of April 2010, the maximum since December 2007. The outcome signifies development of 2 per cent in one month and 33 per cent in a year.

Walton was quoted in earlier reports saying DDR3 would account for over 50 per cent of its overall DRAM shipments in the second quarter, as clients are ramping up manufacture for the chip.

Both PTI and Walton apparently offer back-end services for Elpida Memory. Rexchip Electronics and NAND flash manufacturer Toshiba is in addition amongst PTI's main clients, while Walton supplies its back-end services to Nanya Technology and Winbond Electronics besides Elpida.

Thailin, whose main DRAM clients include Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC), saw April revenues raise 2.5 per cent successively to NT$143 million. Thailin's revenues through the month amounted to NT$534 million, a 96.8 per cent increase from the year 2009.

Formosa Advanced Technologies (FATC) generated revenues of NT$980 million in the month of April 2010, down 2.3 per cent from March. It is a main back-end associate for Nanya and Inotera Memories.
