Portal on air travel launched

NEW DELHI: Airticketsindia.com a portal on travel, which offers discounted

international and domestic air tickets with online flight PNR confirmation, has

been launched. It also books hotel and cars online and offers other travel

services. The portal is connected to more than 10 servers and 12 booking engines

covering three continents. There are more than 4,500 pages of travel-related

information and services. Its database on airfares offer up to 40 per cent

discount on international flights with special offers on domestic air tickets.

The portal’s business model is based on high volume sales. It already has

over 300,000 registered Web users.

The technology used is comparable with the best travel portals in USA and

Europe. The booking engine compares discounted airfares, books online in all

classes on different airlines and provides a confirmation PNR, without e-mailing

or phoning a travel agent. Tickets are courier delivered within 24 to 48 hours

‘Free of charge’ to passengers all over India.

Payment can be made with credit card by fax or online through encrypted

secured server gateway. In addition, due to limited use of credit cards in

India, payment can also be made at 46 collection centers around the country by

cash, check, bank draft, pay order, or wire transfer.

One can book 60,000 hotels online in 12,000 cities with corporate, seasonal

or category discounts and cars with over 48 car rental companies worldwide

including India. A confirmation voucher is issued online. No advance payment is

made and bookings can be cancelled or changed, without charge, till 6 PM on the

date of checking.
