This multicore solution provides users with a time-tested message-passing programming model and a trusted RTOS. The expansion of the partnership strengthens the development environment, and simplifies the process of creating new multicore designs.

PolyCore Software's Poly-Platform and Micrium's uC/OS-II are integrated and ported to Cyclone V SoCs, making it possible for designers to hit the ground running. This model allows for scalability, and the protection of the software investment for future architectures.

"Cyclone V SoCs are highly configurable which is a good fit with Poly-Platform's highly configurable development environment," said Sven Brehmer, president and CEO of PolyCore Software. "With Micrium's RTOS, our customers can quickly adapt their software to the hardware resources, resulting in a highly optimized end product."

"Micrium has been supporting Altera products for over ten years," said Jean Labrosse, president and CEO of Micrium. "Our partnership with PolyCore Software allows us to bring our embedded components to the new SoC FPGA platform and facilitate the growing multicore design space."The collaboration between PolyCore Software and Micrium improves productivity by integrating dependable components and enables the engineer to make optimal use of platform resources.
