PN Prasad to lead Confed-ITA

CHENNAI, INDIA: Confed-ITA has elected its new office bearers for 2009. The elected members were officially announced during the executive committee meeting held in Tirupur on Sunday. PN Prasad, the current VP of Confed-ITA has been elected as President.

The other office bearers include C Balakrishnan (Eorde) as VP, A Muthuswamy (Madurai) as Secretary, Vinod Kumar (Trichy) as Treasurer, Meenakshi Sundaram (Tutucorin) and P Shanmugam (Tirupur) as Joint Secretaries.

The new office bearers will take charge during the second Confed-ITA Summit that will take place on December 13 and 14, 2008. They will take over their responsibilities effective January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009.

But before they take on their new roles, they will have to drive the summit and work towards its success under the guidance of the existing team.

This time the proposed location of the summit is East Coast Road (ECR), which is between Chennai and Puducherry. “This election is another stepping stone for Confed-ITA. The new enthusiastic team has been elected for 2009-10. It has been decided that every new team that would be elected will work for the summit, before taking the office for the next year,” informed S Karthikeyan President, Confed-ITA.

In an attempt to take Confed-ITA to the masses, the executive committee of Confed plans to conduct a paper presentation contest for college students across Tamil Nadu. K Babu, Secretary, Tirupur IT Association, and an EC member of Confed, will head the event.

Briefing on the plans, Babu said, “Confed-ITA plans to award cash prizes to the student community for the paper presentations on innovative software designs. We want Confed-ITA to further enhance its reach among the masses and reaching the student community is an initial step for that. The winners would be awarded during the 2nd annual Confed-ITA Summit to be held in December.”

Confed-ITA has proposed to present the awards in memory of the four dealers who lost their lives in various accidents in the past year.
