Plustek wins 'Energy Star' certification

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Plustek, a provider in imaging and communications solutions provider, announced on Thursday that four of its book scanner products have won the 'Energy Star' certification, a voluntary labeling program designed to identify and promote energy-efficient products.

The products to get the certification inculded book scanners OpticBook 3600, OpticBook 3600 Plus, OpticBook 4600 and OpticBook V100.

Energy Star certified Book Reader V100 turns the text books to talking books.

It comes with highly accurate OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and auto document orientation software, it ensures quality output for TTS (Text to Speech), said a press release .

Connected with PC through USB 2.0, V100 scans documents at 1200 dpi so that the color of the image remains intact and gobbles only 18 watt power in the functional mode.

Energy Star certified OpticBook 3600 is an innovative book scanner with unique design.

It eliminates the book spine shadow and text distortion of traditional book copying and scanning. It could convert printed pages into PDF files within seconds, the release added.
