Plustek launches SmartOffice scanner

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Plustek Inc., a provider in image solutions worldwide, today announced the launch and availability of its new scanner Plustek SmartOffice PL2546 in the Indian market.

The scanner features with many utility software that would help users scan, edit, store, manage and share documents with complete ease.

It is primarily targeted at government offices, institutions, enterprises and distributed branch offices across industry verticals, said a press release.

Considering the high volumes of documents, customary of many Indian offices, Plustek's SmartOffice Pl2546 aims at efficient document management for enhancing productivity, the release added.

Plustek SmartOffice PL2546 could help users scan documents and convert them into searchable PDF format before sending them to the repository.

The product has an automatic document feeder (ADF) that takes 50 sheets at a time and has a heavy duty cycle of up to 1500 sheets per day.

It can scan 25 pages per minute (or 46 images per minute) in colour, duplex mode (front and back of a page), said the release.

"Businesses and individuals should be concentrating on their core activity than fight paper volumes. SmartOffice PL2546 is a smart product that will be highly accepted - especially in the service industry like hospitality, education, BFSI etc," said Dr. Karen Ku, vice president, Plustek Inc.

"Moreover, it is lightweight and has a small footprint which makes it ideal for offices already struggling for space." he added.

The scanner also features TWAIN driver which allows photocopying, auto detection function for an auto preview of the scan, advanced CIS sensor technology for photo scanning.

Available with the company's authorized partners, Fortune Marketing and Intra Tech Computers Pvt. Ltd., Plustek SmartOffice PL2546 is priced at Rs 60,000 with one year carry in warranty.
