Pinterest has hired former Facebook exec Gary Johnson to head up all business development. Johnson had been with Facebook for six years, following stints with Credit Suisse, Jefferies & Co. and Apple.

In his new role, Johnson will report to Pinterest CFO Todd Morgenfeld and lead partnerships and acquisitions spanning all parts of Pinterest’s business.

“As an expert in building and scaling partnership programs with some of the world’s most successful consumer technology companies, Gary’s leadership will accelerate our business building efforts as we look ahead and continue growing our global operations,” Morgenfeld said in a statement

With a history as a VP at Credit Suisse, and corporate development at Facebook, Johnson is going to bring in a lot of experience to the company that is looking to grow internationally and continues to sell itself as a potential primary advertising product.

“Pinterest unlocks people’s hidden superpowers. I’m excited to join this world-class team in building a product that brings value across audiences, from Pinners to partners and brands and content creators, and help in continuing to grow the company,” Johnson said.
