NEW DELHI, INDIA: Social bookmarking website Pinterest has stepped into ecommerce by unveiling a way to buy items on the website or app through ‘Buyable Pins’.
The feature means that certain Pins will have a ‘Buy’ button which will enable users to purchase things directly from partners. When a user spot a pin with a blue price, it means that it’s buyable.
However, the feature is currently available in the US and users of iOS can avail this by end of this month and Android users will get the feature post June this year. The users can pay for items through Apple Pay or a credit card.
The company has partnered with several retailers, online commerce platform, as well as enterprise commerce platforms.
